Velez de Benaudalla a quiet Moorish town set among the Andalusian mountains. 15 mins to sea. 65 mins to Sierra Nevada for skiing or just to embrace the views.
A river meanders below the town, wonderful for a cool dip or bar b que. Alongside the town is a turquoise reservoir; waiting for permission for leisure activities. A short drive north takes you to the stunning Alpujarra. Embraced in history, the Phoenicians, and Romans paved the way forward and left their mark in the town. Many remains of the cultures are here to discover. Local supermarkets, doctors, dentists and everything essential. Large hospital and
shopping centre 15 mins. All of this now served by the
Malaga_ Almeria and Granada motorway.
The house! New electrics and plumbing to European
standards. Cheap tariffs night and morning. It is a very
old house with thick walls and built on a slope in the
typical Roman way to keep the cool air rising through the house. It`s called by locals ``the house which the breeze flows
through.` It`s a wonderful house to live in. The pictures
show you the fantastic terraces one being very private
and great to sleep outside for the night. The
micro-climate is caused by the circle of mountains.
Velez de Benaudalla is known for the seven Wells that
flow through to the famous Nazari gardens. Nearby is
Salobrena with its beautiful castle. Large beaches and
bays are scattered along the coast. Granada 40 mins is wonderful for history and shopping.
One thing not to forget; free tapas with every drink at the bars. Granada is the only remaining province to offer this splendid out door eating.
